You cannot put a price on salvation: yours (and your children's) whose will be challenged by academia, the media and individuals you meet along the road of life, or those we are commanded to share it with in The Great Commission. The problem has always been that God didn’t make cookie-cutter people and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to sharing the faith. Folks have questions and misconceptions that need to be addressed on an individual basis. Paul knew this and he talks about how important it was for him to approach people in a way that would be most effective for them, allowing him to save as many souls as possible. From 1 Corinthians 9(KJV): "For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;" Most approaches rely on an opening scripture, tract, phrase or question. However, as any child who grew up in a non-Christian home knows, this not only doesn't speak to most unbelievers, it actually can push them away from God. This is precisely why an individual approach and more communication skill is needed!
Speaking to the individual requires even more effective communication skill than in years past! Why? Because the world is even more secular and much more intolerant of Jesus!
Did you ever feel like this? * I know God commands us to share the Good News but I'm afraid that talking about Jesus is like opening up a can of worms.
* I really should comment on that post, but I might be attacked if I do and I woudln't know how to handle that.
* I want to share with Mary at work, but I'm afraid she'll be upset with me.
* If I'm not sure how to answer some questions about Christianity, maybe there aren't any answers.
* I'm afraid my teen will graduate and fall away from the faith. So many studies show that many Christain college students will say they are no longer born again before they graduate.
* My professor challenged my faith in class, but I wasn't sure how to respond and I'm worried about my grade.
* I got into a religous discussion with an Atheist friend, but I was surprised that he wasn't moved by my quoting scripture.
* I tried to share my faith with Bill, but we got into an argument and now he doesn't want to hear about Jesus from ANYONE.
