You cannot put a price on salvation: yours (and your children's) whose will be challenged by academia, the media and individuals you meet along the road of life, or those we are commanded to share it with in The Great Commission.  The problem has always been that God didn’t make cookie-cutter people and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to sharing the faith.

Folks have questions and misconceptions that need to be addressed on an individual basis.  Paul knew this and he talks about how important it was for him to approach people in a way that would be most effective for them, allowing him to save as many souls as possible.  From 1 Corinthians 9(KJV):

"For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.  And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;"

Most approaches rely on an opening scripture, tract, phrase or question.  However, as any child who grew up in a non-Christian home knows, this not only doesn't speak to most unbelievers, it actually can push them away from God.  This is precisely why an individual approach and more communication skill is needed!

Speaking to the individual requires even more effective communication skill than in years past! Why?  Because the world is even more secular and much more intolerant of Jesus!

Did you ever feel like this?

* I know God commands us to share the Good News but I'm afraid that talking about Jesus is like opening up a can of worms.

* I really should comment on that post, but I might be attacked if I do and I woudln't know how to handle that.

* I want to share with Mary at work, but I'm afraid she'll be upset with me.

* If I'm not sure how to answer some questions about Christianity, maybe there aren't any answers.

* I'm afraid my teen will graduate and fall away from the faith. So many studies show that many Christain college students will say they are no longer born again before they graduate.

* My professor challenged my faith in class, but I wasn't sure how to respond and I'm worried about my grade.

* I got into a religous discussion with an Atheist friend, but I was surprised that he wasn't moved by my quoting scripture.

* I tried to share my faith with Bill, but we got into an argument and now he doesn't want to hear about Jesus from ANYONE.

More effective communication skill will allow you to:

* Confidently answer questions about Jesus

* Avoid conflicts and arguments when you share God's Word

* Overcome Shyness

* Build your own faith as you understand that God's Word really IS consistant with science and does not contradict itself

* Feel more comfortable when people disagree with you

* Comfortably share the basis for your Christian, conservative political beliefs with others

* Help win more souls for Christ Jesus!

Defending the Faith Studies:

Say What You Mean: Defending the Faith: teaches teens and adults how to share and defend the faith in grace and with respect.  This study shows you how to have an informal debate (casual conversation) that helps you answer the most common questions and misconceptions the world has about Christianity and Jesus.

Are you comfortable with questions like these?

~What about all the horrible things done in Jesus’ name?

~If there is a God, why is there so much suffering?

~Why are Christians so intolerant?

~Doesn’t the Bible contradict scientific evidence?

What gets in the way of us sharing our faith?

~Anti Christian bias by the media and others

~Fear of violating "Separation of Church and State"

~Lack of understanding of how the Bible is relevant in today’s world

~Fear of being labled "intolerant"

~Lack of understanding of how science fits in with God’s Word

~Fear of losing friends or a job or of getting a lower grade in college

~Not being comfortable or confident enough

~Lack of understanding of how to go about answering the world’s questions

21 Days to More Godly Communication The Lord shares literally hundreds and hundreds of scriptures in His Word that instruct us on the use, misuse and benefits of our tongues, mouths and words.

I began writing articles on my blog and one day I decided to issue myself a challenge to write a communication article every day based on 21 of my favorite communication scriptures. The response to my blog series was amazing!  I covered topics in scripture from Proverbs to Psalms, Philipians, Ephesians, Isaiah, Ecclesiastes, and from 1 Peter to 2 Timothy!

Say What You Mean: Overcoming Social Anxiety takes you through my painful struggle and teaches you to overcome your social anxiety in a fraction of the time.  Even better, it allows you to do so in a creative and fun way.  I have a surprise for all you who feel painfully shy too!  This eCourse can take you from social anxiety to social butterfly!  Yes. This eBook will not only give you the tools to become more comfortable in social situations, but it will take you through mastery and on to execllence!

Say What You Mean: Avoiding, Reducing and Resolving Conflicts.  Almost all conflicts under Heaven are caused or are exacerbated by communication problems.  Studies show that misunderstandings cause not only hurt feelings and anger, but often violence as well.  Conflicts can destroy a marriage or a friendship.  Misunderstandings can build a small disagreement into a wall that will not allow a relationship to continue.  Mistrust, fear and pain often follow conflict and they can be formidable opponents even in the face of conflict resolution.

Say What You Mean: Debating the Issues helps you understand the issues, but it also teaches you tips and techniques for presenting your Christian conservative viewpoints in a way that will be much more effective and friendly.
